Blissful Wonder

Hello Guys!! For this post I thought it would be interesting to do a ‘What’s in my Travel Carry-on bag’ just essential items I have to bring every time I go out.
Firstly, I change my bag depending on my mood and outfit, but I love love love this shoulder/hand bag from TKMax it’s big and has a lot of pockets and instalments inside which is perfect for me because I don’t want to use a smaller bag to put inside this bag. It’s too much of a hassle.

Another Travel Diary!! My second holiday in a span of 2 weeks and this time it’s not so far away like my Amsterdam trip, but it’s within the UK, I managed to explore a town called York, famous for its rich traditional British architecture and ruins as well its university. Me and my family friends spend 4 days and 3 nights in a family friendly tourist caravanning destination called Blue Dolphin where it had bars, karaoke, theatres, arcade, fast food, pool, crazy golf, go karting and entertainment everywhere you go. Unfortunately, they didn't give you internet so I was wifi-less for 4 days, it was torture, let's just say the 4G charges on my phone will be pretty high last month.

One of my first holidays aboard since 2011 and I was lucky enough to spend 4 days with my friends in the most beloved and liberal cities in the world, Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands. There was so much to do and I think 4 days was a good amount of days to explore and experience the city.

One of the most important things to acknowledge in any beauty process is the care for your skin, I'm guilty for not taking care of my skin properly, I'm that person who accidentally sleeps with make-up on and don't fully clean all the layers of my make up (I’m lazy don't judge),

As this academic year has drawn to a close with another chapter of my life is also closing. It’s crazy how I’ve finished my first year of university it seems like only last week I started university and now I’m finishing it and I must say it’s been such a chill year for me (a lot of people did say that 1st years do just mess and fuck around, which is true) like deadlines was the only stressful thing all year and I manage to finish with a first in my course.

This is the look when I’m going out in public and want to look presentable but not bombarded with layers of make-up, I don’t feel like spending a lot of time getting ready for an everyday look as it only takes me about 10 minutes

Sorry I’ve been so quiet on blogger, I’ve been finishing my last few assignments and revising for my exams by next week I would have completed my first year of university, so I’ll be way more active for the summer. I’ve been such a hermit for the past few weeks so I decided to post about another bucket list on Bangkok, Thailand.

How I Got Ombre Hair without going to the salon

A lot of people have been asking me various questions about my hair; what’s your hair colour? What products do you use? Did you get it done at a salon? Etc etc. Since a lot of people really like my hair I’ll answer their burning questions.
First of all I’ve never dyed my hair in a salon (I’m cheap, hair salons are expensive these days) I got all my products from Boots or Superdrug and my dear friend helped me.
Secondly, I don’t really know what my hair colour is, lol my hair evolution went from virgin black to brown to dark red/purple to brass/copper ombré to blonde ombré. Thank God my hair ain't stubborn when it comes to hair dye. If I had to give you a colour, it's really blonde right now (after bleaching it 3 times).
Thirdly the products I use:

Bleach: Jerome Russel Blonde | High Lift Powder Bleach & Maxium Cream Peroxide.
My hair was naturally really dark so after I bleached it the first time it came out orange/copper, I didn't like it so much but I just got over it since I didn't want to bleach it again to prevent my hair from getting dry or damaged. After 4 months I bleached it again and it was more of a copper/brassy colour, then I gave it another 4/5 months and decided to bleach it again. I wanted to go blonde at the bottom since I really hated the brassy tone, so my flatmate recommended me a tonner.

Tonner: PRO:VOKE Touch of Silver | Brightening shampoo.
This is literally my lifesaver and the reason why my hair colour is as good as it is. This tonner gets rid of brassy tones within your hair after bleaching it. I would use this before every shower I take and let it rest in my hair for about 5-10 minutes and at first I didn't believe it'll get rid of the brassiness but eventually after a couple of weeks it did!! I'm still using this product because there are hints of brassiness still left in my hair.

Here's some pictures of my hair when I was gradually building up the bleach and before i used the tonner.

Since I've almost finished my first year at uni I thought why not write about my experience and give advice towards people who are in university or who are thinking of going to uni. Being a joint honours student and a member of the dance and cheer society I am constantly running around juggling my student life, social life and sports life. One of the main key elements for me being successful in my uni life is organisation!! No matter what anyone say organisation is key. Some of these are just extra, it's because I AM EXTRA and I love being organise cause it helps me keep peace at mind. So here are examples of things that can help you get organised.
DIARIES/PLANNERS!
Theres a reason why they're called planners!! they help you plan and organise any assignments, exams, and activities. What I tend to do in my diary is I colour coordinate, I'm a visual learner and I am obsessed with good ascetics.
  • For my modules (or subjects if you're in A-Level/GCSE) have a different colours for each one of them and write down any assignments, homework or research task, etc on them.
  • I also like highlighters I use the traffic light system to highlight the things I should get done first such as ORANGE highlight signifies 'GET THIS DONE FIRST' and then yellow 'DO IT SOON' and green 'AIN'T THAT IMPORTANT BUT GET IT DONE LATER'
  • I also use stickers when I write down key dates such as any competitions, interviews and exams (I usually write that inn black and highlight it within the chosen module colour code.)
  • For essays, reports and presentations I usually write down a list of tasks to do such as; researching, books, articles I need to read, meetings and planning the essay out.
  • Writing down any activities that the university offers date and time, whether it be practices, career talks, volunteering programmes or conventions. Write them down so that you won't forget.
CALANDAR
I use both physical and computer calendars because it reminds my stupid ass.
  • I basically just write down any important dates; exams, interviews, due dates, holidays, especially occasions (Similar to my planner but a simplified version/overview.)
POST-STICK NOTES
Sticky notes are my life savers, I use them for revision and to organise my work.
  • I use different coloured sticky notes for each of my modules/subjects and write the simplified version of the module guide and then afterwards I would tick and write down what grade I got, I usually stick these around my wall/desk. Example:
DEV1002
1) Essay 2,000 word (19th Dec)
2) Group Presentation (Feb 20th-Mar 24th)
3) Exam 2hr (May 2nd)

FOLDERS/BINDERS
Probably the only thing that keeps my physical work AND computer folders organised.
  • PHYSICAL FOLDER: Use binders to divide my work into modules/subjects, make sure you write the date down for each paperwork you have (trust me it helps you so much).
  • COMPUTER FOLDERS: Similar to physical, different folders for modules and within those folders I would make a new set of folders and divide them up into weeks. I also have a separate folder called 'ASSIGNMENTS' which basically have all my assignments in there.
LEARNING APP
I'm not sure if all universities have these, but my uni does and it's basically an app has all the essentials you need in terms of modules. I recommend downloading this app not only cause I am constantly on my phone 24/7 but because it gives you notifications of any announcements your lecturers release.

💖💖💖

So I thought about what else I could post on my blog since there's nothing interesting in my life right now, and I got the inspiration from one of my friends to do a '20 Facts About Me'

1. I'm Filipinooo~ with a little Chinese blood, but I'm not gonna go into details about my ancestry.

2. Born in Bicol, Philippines and raised in Brighton/Birmingham, England. I haven't been back to the Philippines in 10 years, so I'm pretty much white-washed.

3. I can't speak tagalog or any filipino dialect, just English. But I can still understand ^^

4. I'm such a huge comic book fan, especially the cinematic universes', my favourite are the x-men & spider-man series 💖

5. I love to dance, as a hobby; I use to go to tap, ballet, jazz and contemporary classes.

6. I always look at dance inspirations on youtube, my favourite choreographers are; Parris Goebel, Ellen Kim, Sorah Yang, Keone/Mari Madrid, Kyle Hanagami, Jade Chynoweth, KK Harris & More (might do a post on this)

7. Proud Potterhead⚡ and a proud Hufflepuff - I pretty much watch all the Harry Potter films every year.

8. Still and will forever love K-pop, as corny as that sounds, I've been interested in Korean culture since 2008.

9. I'm pretty flexible, I can do the splits, certain tumbles and other basic gymnastics skills, however, I wish to learn more in the future.

10. My dream job is to be a Flight attendant and to work within a international development organisation  ✈

11. Cat Lover!! 🐱 I once owned 9 cats.

12. My favourite colours are teal and rose gold.

13. I'm also interested in Japanese culture too, I love their music, dramas, food, cities, anime and such 🗼

14. I'm a feminist, yes! say what you wanna say about feminist, but if the definition of a feminist is the social, political and economic equality of the sexes then why wouldn't I support that. I also think that it's pretty subjective topic. ♀

15. I compete in cheerleading for uni, cause why not.

16. I have an underbite, my teeth are pretty fucked up I've been waiting to get my surgery done so I can have an overbite.

17. Lee Taemin is still my husband, after 9 years we're still going strong.

18. I can shuffle/house step (if i really try)

19. I spend 80% of my time on YouTube

20. My favourite film company is Studio Ghibli

One of the things I would like to do in the future (or now maybe?) is to travel; I feel like pretty much everyone would one day love to travel around the world and take cute pictures, however, I do know that travelling is costly. Since I did choose a course that relates to travelling and learning about different countries, cultures, societies, history and people I thought why not do a travel bucket list of the places I wish to go to. I'm a believer that going out and experiencing the world yourself is more valuable than sitting down and reading about it.

So far my travel experience spectrum isn't that wide it goes as far as the travelling around the Philippines, yes I know that's far but then again I haven't been back fro 10 years so I hardly remember anything. I've visited Dubai, only as a stop over which I don't really count. I've been in Paris, Lourdes and a French Northern town which I forgot the name cause I went when I was in Year 8. I've also been to Costa del Sol, Spain during my trip in Spain I also got the chance to visit Morocco for the day which was very interesting it's so insightful going to different country that I'm oblivious  or uneducated on as travelling is a learning experience too, and that's pretty much how many 'abroad' places I've been to. Within the UK I've pretty much been everywhere, here and there from Wales, Northern Ireland, London, Manchester etc etc.... I basically live in England so I have time to travel locally. I haven't been travelling abroad since my trip to Spain in Year 9 (about 5/6 years) so it's been a long time and I really been the sensation of travelling and the process that comes with it.

I've also decided to do a travels diary for the future since I'm going to be travelling quite a lot this year but at the moment I've researched and looked for places where I would like to go in the near future so for my no.1 travel bucket list is

NEW YORK, USA

I feel like New York is the place to be, it's the city of dreams, lights and it's world renowned, like any tourist I would love to visit the typical touristy areas; empire state building, Brooklyn bridge, various museums, statue of liberty, Times Square, madison square garden and the 9/11 memorial museum. Furthermore, as a Friends fan I would love to take pictures in New York to see what all the hype is about, maybe go to the cafe place like in the show or maybe Grand Central and Central Park. In addition, I would also like to go to any fashion outlets and shops because you know New York is one of the Fashion Capitals but then again need to realise that I'm a student and I'm constantly broke but I unconsciously keep spending my money away like it's okay.

Because I've never really been to New York what I always try to do is look up the history and culture of the city or country before I visit, one thing I hate is generalising countries and people but I feel like New York is filled with a range of diverse people. I've only envision New York through films and television so going there and getting first-hand experience would be a dream.

University Dance Competition 2017

If you don't know me, I have a passion for dancing, I've been dancing since I was 6. So for uni I decided to join the hip-hop squad for this year!!
There's not doubt that these group of people are the most fun people to be around with. One of my closest people are in this club and I'm sooo happy to have joined!

Our first competition was at Loughborough University, it was my first time at an actual dance competition, and well let's just say I was so overwhelmed there were so many great uni dance groups, I definitely got stage fright. There was 30 universities performing and the venue was massive!! When it was our turn to perform our music got cut off....Out of all the unis our got cut off ahaha... but we manage to perform again which was terrifying. Loughborough was a great experience and I can't wait to smash it again next year.

Our second competition was at Northampton, well long story short WE CAME 1ST PLACE FOR NOVICE HIPHOP!!! I was actually in shocked since we thought we would place 3rd or 2nd but nope 1st Place for my hip hop girls and thats all!

Cheerleading University Competition 2017

During my first year of university I manage to compete in Cheerleading, I must say at the beginning I was reluctant because I never cheered before, not only that but I also gave in to the stereotype of cheerleaders. Luckily that wasn't the case for my cheer team, I am so happy to have joined the university cheer team this year I got to meet new people, learn new things and also develop and improve my flexibility. Although I originally wanted to learn how to tumble (i never learnt in the end) I still got to keep fit and active because of it.

One thing I learned from cheer is that attendance is sooo important for anything if one person doesn't attend you're basically screwed as a group and you have to learn the whole routine and pyramid again.
But safe to say that during my first cheer competition the majority of the team were 1st years and things got a bit overwhelming, we didn't do so great for our first comps however we manage to come 3RD out of 9 universities in Future Cheer! which was surprising since we messed up the dance sequence.

The second thing I learned from cheer is that CHEERLEADING IS A SPORT!! not many people credit it as a sport and I was one of them. But seeing as now I've experienced it myself cheer is definitely a sport the strength, flexibility, the synchronisation and other skills you need to gain and everything else was just as similar to any other sport, yea we may look pretty and all but to be able to hold another body put, the timings, dance, jumps, pyramid, tumbles, stunts all play for point.
If anyone is up for debate about how cheerleading is sports ask them have you ever tried it yourself on a competitive level?
This is why you don't judge children, never judge a book by its cover.

Our 2nd competition was Legacy Cheer, no lie it was a long day I mean who performs at 5:30 pm to get results at 11:30 pm... like what?? no... We manage to get 2ND PLACE!!
Next year we're gonna become more stronger and better, and hopefully, I'll be able to learn how to tumble. I'm thankful to my cheer team that voted me as their secretary for 2017/18

LET'S GO STALLIONS LET'S GO!!

Top Japanese Romance Movies

Watching cringey Asian romance movies and dramas are my guilty pleasures... heres the list for my fave Japanese romance movies

No.1 - Heroine Disqualified /ヒロイン失格 (Hiroin Shikkaku) 2015

Starring: Mirei Kiritani, Kento Yamazaki, Kentaro Sakaguchi
One of my all time favourite movies (not because Kento is it) but it's a High School based romance drama where Hatori has a crush on her childhood friend, Rita. However things get complicated when Rita dates Mino this leads Hatori to feel jealous and upset by the couple. Due to her jealously she has attracted the school's most popular and handsome student Kosuke.
This movie is overall funny yet deep at the same time, I'm in love with all the main characters.

No.2 Say 'I Love You' 2014

Starring: Haruna Kawaguchi, Sota Fukushi.
This is probably one of the cutest films ever, although it's pretty much predictable there no doubt that Sota is so adorable and cute in this. Another High School based drama where high school student Mei is somewhat very anti-social and is unable to make friends, until one day she accidentally injures the most popular student in the school, Yamato. After the incident Yamato takes interest in Mei and wants to get closer to her. Unlike the other typical girls Mei's character stands up for what she believes in and she doesn't care about what anyone thinks.

No.3 Love for Beginners /  今日、恋をはじめます (Kyo, Koi wo Hajimemasu) 2012

Starring: Emi Takei, Tori Matsuzaka
Another cute film, another high school themed romance where Tsubaki has a talent for making others look pretty but is unable to gain confidence from her own self-concept, therefore she suffers from a very low-self esteem. She has a very traditional/old mindset and she gets teased because of this. Until she gets closer to a popular male student, Kyota who targets Tsubaki and also teases her, he starts to grow interest in her and soon starts to fall in love with her.
Both characters suffers from some type of issue yet they are able to come together, even if they have their ups and downs.
No lie I loved the cute ending.

No. 4 Close Range Love / 近キョリ恋愛 (Kinkyori Renai) 2014

Starring: Tomoshia Yamashita, Nana Komatsu
A high school romance between a student and her sensei, Yuni Kururugi is one of the smartest students in school she excels in all her classes except for English, her English teacher Sakurai gives her extra private lessons and they soon develop feelings for each other.
When I first watched this, no lie it was really weird because of the teacher/student relationship but then again its cute at the same time.. but still weird.

No. 5 Wolf Girl and Black Prince / オオカミ少女と黒王子 (Okami Shojo to Kuro Oji) 2016
Starring: Fumi Nikaido, Kento Yamazaki
Another high school drama, Erika is very despicable student, she makes up a story of having a boyfriend where she has created this fictional world to which her friends believe. Sooner or later her friends begin to question her stories as Erika begins to run out of lies she the takes a picture of a handsome boy named Kyouya, she starts to use his picture to show her friends that she actually has a boyfriend. Little did she know that Kyouya actually attended the same high school as Erika. Erika tells the truth to Kyouya and they both start a fake relationship.

No.7 Black Devil and The White Prince / 黒崎くんの言いなりになんてならない (Kurosaki kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai) 2016

Starring: Nana Komatsu, Kento Nakajima, Yudai Chiba
A love triangle between Yu, Takui and Haruto. When Yu moves into a new school she takes interest in Takumi (White prince) as he takes care of her, whereas Haruto (Black devil) forces Yu to do whatever he says to which Yu becomes somewhat of a slave to him. As the movie progress both male leads start to gain feelings for Yu and now she needs to choose between the white prince or the black devil.

No.8 L-DK / L♡DK 2014

Starring: Ayame Gouriki, Kento Yamazaki
When Aoi's parents move to another city for work Aoi begins to live by herself and Shusei, a popular male student, moves in the next apartment to her. Aoi accidentally makes the sprinkler go off in his room so until Shusei's room is fix he starts living with Aoi. The two quickly bonds and start to gain feelings for each other.

No.9 Sky of Love / 恋空 (Koizora)
Starring: Yui Aragaki, Haruma Miura
Mika is a shy, quiet and sweet girl, she has yet to find true love and when she looses her phone a mysterious boy picks it up and calls her every day in the summer. Mika then becomes interested with the mysterious boy and wants to meet him when school starts. Mika is shocked to learn the mysterious person calling her was Hiro, a rebellious student with white hair tries to overcome their differences and soon they both develop feelings for each other. While Mika and Hiro tries to bond Mika is threaten by Hiro's ex-girlfriend and other girls from their school.

No.10 君に届け (Kimi ni Todoke)
Starring: Mikako Tabe, Haruma Miura
Socially awkward but self-less Sawako is teased and bullied by her school mates for being unapproachable and gloomly because she has a similar hair cut as the Ring, she meets  Shota a popular male student, unlike the typical popular stereotypical play boy Shota is actually down-to-earth and kind towards Sawako to which she respects and admires him Shota starts to gain feelings for Sawaka as he notice her little acts of kindness towards people and around the school, he tries to make her open up to others.
One of the classics and one of my top Japanese movies it was probably one the first Japanese movies I've watched and I absolutely loved it.

As you can see my genre of movies are pretty much similar; high school, teen-romance films. I live for these types of movies.
Hope that this list was helpful!!
